Reading Half - March

A well organised mass participation event with some fast downhills compensating for the climbs at the start and middle of the race. Finishing inside the Madejski Stadium is very cool. Click here or the race website.

Combe Gibbet 16 - March

An undulating run from Combe Gibbet across the chalk downs to Overton and good alternative prepation for marathon season. It also finishes at a lower elevation than it starts. Click here for the race website

Southampton Half - April

Many Totton runners took part in the debut event in 2015 and throughly enjoyed it. The key challenge in the race is crossing the Itchen Bridge twice (steeper than it looks). Click here for the race website.

New Forest 10 - July

A part trail, part road race through the Forest, including the picturesque Ornamental Drive. There are no challenging climbs, but as a summer event, it  can be a hot one. Click here for the race website.

Needles Half - August

If you fancy a challenge, this trail race over the hills of the Isle of Wight should more than meet your expectations. Don't expect a PB, but do expect a work out. Click here for the race website.

Great South Run - October

Probably the best known 10 mile race in the UK. Entry fees are a bit steep, but if you've got money to burn, it's a fun experience. Save your energy for those last two miles along the coast. Click here for the race website.

Hayling 10 - November

This event is flatter than Amsterdam and takes in some great views across the Solent. Crucially, the coastal section runs with the prevailing wind rather than against it. Click here for the race website.
