Getting to the Race

The race will be once again held at Ocknell Caravan and Campsite. Finding the site is fairly straightforward and below we have listed a few options to help you find your way.

Ocknell is signposted from the A31 and M27 by the brown tourist signs. We will have also signposted the route from both these roads.

If using a sat nav the postcode for the site is SO43 7HH. Please note that this will take you approximately 1.5 miles to the north of the site.

Travelling eastbound on A31: Leave the A31 at the exit signposted Fritham, Bolderwood  and Ocknell. The entrance to the site is approximately 500m on your left.

Travelling westbound on the M27: Leave the motorway at Junction 1, signposted The New Forest and Lyndhurst A337. At the roundabout then the take the 3rd turning on to the B3079. Head along this road for just over a mile and take a left signposted Fordingbridge B3078, Downton (B3080), Fritham, Bolderwood, Linwood, and Ocknell. After approximately 1.5 miles take another left signposted Fritham, Bolderwood, Linwood and Ocknell. Continue on this road for just under 2.5 miles and the site entrance will be on your right.

Car Parking

We have ample car parking for competitors and their supporters on site. Please follow the signage and instructions of the marshals who will direct you to an appropriate space.

Race Village

The race village is the hub of everything going on and hosts registration and the finish, making it an ideal place for your friends and family to cheer you over the line. In addition, you will be able to treat to yourself to a post-race massage, a bacon roll or charge your batteries with some pre-race nutrition from #LNO#https://xmiles.co.uk#TXT#X-miles Endurance Sports Store#END#, who have kindly supplied some spot prizes – don’t forget to check your goody bag at the end of the race!

Registration

Registration is on the day only and will be open from 0830-0945 in the race village. Please report here to collect your race number.

Race Start

The race start is situated opposite the car park to the race village. Please ensure you make your way to the start line in good time and by no later than 0955. The race will start promptly at 1000.

The Route

The route will be fully marshalled by the friendliest marshals you will ever wish to find. In addition, there will be ample signage to ensure that you keep on track and there will be two water stations situated on the route.

Approximately 2 miles into the route the course will split. Those running the 5 mile route only will turn left with 10 mile runners heading straight on. The split will be fully marshalled and clearly signposted.

Any 10 mile runner wishing to run the 5 mile route may do so at this point but please indicate to the Marshall at the turn, and the recorders at the race finish. Any 5 mile runner who decides to run the 10 mile route will be marked as DNF.

Race Finish

The nature of the race allows us to employ a manual timing which keep our costs down. When you finish, firstly congratulate yourself on your achievement, but then please keep moving down the funnel remaining in the order in which you crossed the line. The race recorders will take your race number after which point you are free to collect your race goody bag.

And Finally...

As a little pre-race gift  #LNO#https://www.altonsports.co.uk/#TXT#Alton Sports#END# have kindly provided all Stinger Runners with an exclusive offer. From now until the next week after the event they are offering 15% off their trail shoe range. In addition, printing and bringing along this  #LNO#https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0cMXl94KdJFeG8tNTFYcl9qOUE#TXT#voucher#END# will entitle you to a free gift when you purchase footwear after a full assessment and expert fitting using Alton’s gait analysis service.
