Totton Triumph in London
Totton were triumphant at the London Marathon this weekend with all 14 of our runners completing the 26.2 mile course in less than 5 hours.
Nick Buis was our first runner across the line in an inspirational 02:43:11. Amazingly this was only the 2nd marathon he has ever completed (his first being Ironman Austria in 2013) Meanwhile, Helen Wallington came agonisingly close to a sub 3 hour time, finishing in 03:00:50. However, this was still a 5 minute PB.
Further down the pack, Josie Teather Lovejoy (pictured left) completed her debut marathon in 03:41:54, a well deserved reward after many months of hard training. Josie came close to a negative split (running the second half of the race faster than the first) but the only runner to actually manage it was Emmett McCarthy in a repeat of his feat from last year.
