We’re delighted to announce that The Lily Foundation has been chosen as our club charity for the 2026–2027 season.

Throughout the season, we’ll be organising a variety of charity events and fundraising activities, giving everyone in the club the opportunity to get involved, have some fun and, most importantly, help support an important cause. Keep an eye out for details of our upcoming events!

About The Lily Foundation

The Lily Foundation is dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease and finding hope for everyone affected by it.

Its vision is for a world where every person living with mitochondrial disease has a voice and access to the treatment, support and care they need to improve their lives — and, ultimately, a cure.

What is mitochondrial disease?

Mitochondrial disease, often known as ‘mito’, is a rare, complex genetic condition that can be difficult to diagnose. It affects the mitochondria - the parts of our cells responsible for producing the energy our bodies need to function.

Mitochondrial disease can affect any organ, at any age, and often affects babies and young children. Because it can affect different parts of the body in different ways, no two people experience the condition in exactly the same way.

There is currently no cure for mitochondrial disease, but The Lily Foundation is working hard to change that. It is the largest charitable funder of mitochondrial research in Europe, supporting research that could lead to better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

We look forward to seeing our members getting involved throughout the season and helping us raise as much as we can for The Lily Foundation.
